Paddlers from across the world have arrived in Torbay, Great Britain for the International Canoe Federation Stand Up Paddling World Cup – English Riveria. 

Competition take place from June 26 to 28 with global titles in sprint, technical and long distance up for grabs. 

Known as the English Riveria, Torbay will provide a stunning stage for the event which will be centred around two locations – Torquay Inner Harbour and Torre Abbey Sands. 

It is the third leg of the ICF SUP World Ranking Series after stages in Comacchio, Italy in March and Villach, Austria in May. 

Sprint will take centre stage in Torbay on Friday followed by technical on Saturday and long distance on Sunday. 

Athletes from Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Italy, Ireland, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland will be participating in junior, senior and masters categories.

  

Among the international stars competing in Torbay will be Italy’s Cecilia Pampinella who has made a strong start to the season and two-time world medallist Manuel Hoyuela Rojas of Spain. 

Hoyuela sits second and fifth in ICF SUP World Ranking Series standings for the men’s technical and men’s long distance, respectively. 

Other paddlers to watch out for in the men’s competition include France’s Greg Limelette and Italy’s Tommaso Pampinella. 

Cecilia Pampinella leads the way in the overall standings for both the women’s technical and women ‘s long distance after impressing in the opening two legs of the series. 

The Italian star headlines the women’s competition that also features the likes of Poland’s Hanna Kaminska and Sweden’s Michelle Kimbler.
