Tacen is set for a busy month of racing, with an International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom Ranking Race getting underway just three weeks before the opening ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup of the season.
The Ranking Race will welcome athletes from 11 nations and carries added significance for paddlers from Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia, as it serves as the final selection event for their national teams ahead of this year’s major international competitions.
Racing will be streamed live throughout the weekend, with the opening session beginning at 16:00 CET today on the Canoe Federation of Slovenia YouTube.
Several top home athletes are set to feature, including Olympic champion Benjamin Savsek, Olympic silver medallist Peter Kauzer, and four-time European champion Luka Bozic.

Italy also arrives with a strong line-up led by Olympic gold medallist Giovanni De Gennaro and junior world champion Xabier Ferrazzi.
In the women’s events, Olympian and five-time world medallist Eva Tercelj will look to shine in front of a home crowd.
She faces tough competition from fellow Slovenian Eva Lin Hocevar and U23 world champion Marta Bertoncelli of Italy.
The event will also showcase exciting emerging talent, including 15-year-olds Tia Volk of Slovenia and Croatia’s Marin Bjelis.
Following the conclusion of racing on Sunday, full results will be available here.
