Slovakian paddlers starred at the International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom Ranking Race in Liptovský Mikuláš, claiming four of the eight gold medals on offer.  

In both the men and women’s canoe finals, Slovakian athletes captured all available podium positions, with Marko Mirgorodsky and Zuzana Pankova taking gold.  

The home nations success continued in the kayak events, where David Skubik and Eliska Mintalova also topped the standings.  

Jake Brown took victory for Great Britian in the men’s kayak cross individual as Ukrainian paddler Valentyna Horlova powered to gold in the women’s event.  

Viktoriia Us and Oleksandr Fedoranko stormed to victory, claiming golds in the women and men’s kayak cross for Ukraine.  

In the men’s C1 final, it was a Slovakian clean sweep on the podium as Mirgorodsky stormed to gold in 103.15. 

Compatriots Michal Martikan in 108.81, and Matej Benus in 109.25 took silver and bronze, respectively.  

It was another clean sweep for the home paddlers in the women’s C1, as double European champion Pankova led the charge, finishing in 117.52. 

Emanuela Luknarova secured silver in 117.92 as Sona Stanovska rounded off the podium in 121.63.  

Slovakian youngster David Skubik continued the home nation’s good form, taking gold in the men’s K1.  

North Macedonia’s Angel Petrushev secured second in 103.17, as Ukraine’s Oleksandr Fedoranko completed the podium in 103.87. 

It was another clean sweep for Slovakia as Mintalova stole gold in 108.83 in the women’s K1.

The two-time Olympian was closely followed by fellow countrywomen Stanovska in 112.65 and Pankova in 112.76. 

It was a Ukrainian double in the women’s kayak cross individual as Horlova took gold in 70.94 and Viktoriia Us captured silver in 71.10.  

Home paddler Sandra Kruta settled for bronze in 78.15.  

Great Britian’s Brown stormed to gold in the men’s kayak cross individual, finishing in 65.36.  

Brown kept competitors Fedorenko and Arkhyp Krachko from victory, as the Ukrainian pair finished in 66.60 and 67.05, respectively. 

Ukraine dominated the women’s kayak cross, with Us stormed to gold ahead of compatriots Oleksandra Horlova and Valentyna Horlova, completing a Ukrainian one-two-three.  

In the men’s event, Fedorenko powered to victory to round off a successful competition for Ukraine, defeating the Slovak duo Matyas Korinek and lucas Hnilica in the final.
