Canoe Slalom athletes eyeing ranking points got a taste of The Whitewater Center in Oklahoma City, the venue for the Olympic Games LA28.  

The latest International Canoe Federation World Ranking event in the United States saw home favourites and Brazilian stars make a statement.  

The men's and women's canoe titles went to the US while their South American counterparts reigned supreme in the men's and women's kayak finals.  

Paris 2024 star Evy Leibfarth added to her fine form from the Pan American Championships last week with a dominant win in the C1. 

The 21-year-old was 6.31 seconds faster than second-placed Omira Estacia Neta of Brazil on 108.58 while the bronze medal went to Canadian Lois Betteridge, who clocked 114.02.  

It was an American one-two in the men's C1 thanks to the experienced duo of Zachary Lokken and Casey Eichfeld. 

Lokken timed 97.26, followed by Eichfeld on 101.61 while the final podium spot was bagged by Charles Correa of Brazil in 106.70.  

Mathieu Densos of Brazil, who clocked 85.49, got the better of Americans Kyler James Long and Kaelin Friedenson in the men's K1 final.  

Chile stood on top of the podium in the men's kayak cross final when Andraz Echeverria Olguin cruised past silver and bronze medallists Merle Long of Australia and Friedenson, respectively. 

Leibfarth added another gold to her collection as the fastest in the women's kayak cross final to beat Chilean Florencia Aguirre Gonzalez who won silver, with Sage Donnelly of the US finishing third.

Marx siblings shine in Huningue  

Swiss siblings Alena Marx and Dimitri Marx had a golden run at the ICF World Ranking event in Huningue, France, with the former winning two titles.  

Alena Marx was a cut above the rest in the K1 final, finishing 5.40 ahead of world and European medallist Antonie Galuskova of Czechia in 91.86. The bronze medal went to Viktoriia Us of Ukraine, as the European Games kayak cross champion clocked 92.84. 

Alena went on to win the women's kayak cross gold medal while her brother Dimitri won the men's title in the event.  

The women's C1 final saw Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Andrea Herzog of Germany beating her teammate Nele Bayn for the gold medal in 92.42 while the US got another bronze medal.  

Among men, 2021 world champion Vaclav Chaloupka of Czechia won the men's C1 title while Belgian Gabriel De Coster claimed the top prize in the men's C1.
