Argentina's Manuel Tripano and Evy Leibfarth of the United States performed superbly at the 2025 Canoe Slalom Pan American Championships in Montgomery.
Tripano, who won the U23 world title in Liptovsky last year, cruised to the men's canoe and kayak titles in Alabama, clocking 106.42 and 97.31, respectively.
The men's C1 silver went to Geral Soto of Chile and Charles Correa of Brazil. The order was reversed in the K1 final with Brazil taking silver thanks to Mathieu Desnos' timing of 96.34 while Chilean Andraz Echeverria finished third.
Omira Estacia Neta of Brazil stole the show in the women's C1, crossing the line in 124.06, followed by Canadian Lois Betteridge and Nerea Castiglione of Argentina.
Ana Satila ensured a Brazilian double among women, clinching the K1 title in 102.48. Sofia Reinoso of Mexico bagged the silver medal.
Brazil also stood out in the men's kayak cross with a one-two thanks to Mathieu Desnos and Pedro Goncalves, with bronze going to Kyler James Long of the USA.
Leibfarth was the fastest among women, getting the better of Marcella Altman and Reinoso for the women's kayak cross title. The American Paris 2024 medallist got her second title in the U23 K1 final.
Last weekend, Montgomery also hosted an International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Ranking, with Leibfarth taking the women's C1 and K1 titles.
In the K1 final, she was 5.41 seconds faster than Satila in 104.65, with Ria Sribar of the United States taking bronze in 106.20.

Leibfarth bettered the gap in the C1, clocking 108.44 for the gold medal, ahead of Canadian Betteridge in 113.99 and Neta in 120.53.
Casey Eichfeld continued the American domination in the ranking event by winning the men's C1 final.
The four-time Olympian, with a timing of 97.63 beat compatriot Zachary Lokken in a tight battle. Tripano bagged the final podium spot.
Goncalves added to his haul in the weekend by finishing first in the men's K1, with an impressive time of 88.98 as teammate Mathieu Densos took silver in 92.52.
World and European medallist Martin Srabotnik of Slovenia took the bronze medal in 95.68.
Surprise winners in Nan'an
The China Open 2, another ICF World Ranking event held in the country, saw popular names and Paris 2024 Olympians Xin Quan and Shiting Li not able to make the same impact.
Teenager Hejie Zhang, with a timing of 85.49, took the men's K1 title ahead of the experienced Liman Huang and Xingzhou Ming while Zhicheng Zhang edged the C1 gold medal by 01.5. Chuan Li took silver and Yufei Shen finished third.
Among women, Tong Li beat Lu Li and Lin Chen for the K1 gold in 98.68 while Jiaqi Shu was the star in the C1, clocking 109.23, with Yishan Wu settling for silver and Shi Chen bronze.
