Richard Fox

About
Australia’s Richard Fox was elected as the new Chair of the ICF Canoe Slalom Committee after standing unopposed at the Congress in Antalya, Turkiye, in 2024.
He succeeded France’s Jean-Michel Prono, who departed after 20 years in the role.
A legend of the sport, he played a crucial role in an international campaign to safeguard Canoe Slalom's Olympic status at Sydney 2000.
Apart from multiple world titles, Fox also has several World Cup medals to his name.
Recently, he served as the Head of the Host Organising Committee of the 2025 Slalom World Championships in Penrith, Sydney, Australia.
Among the most famous names in paddle sport, he joined Paddle Australia as Executive General Manager – Engagement and Partnerships, in October 2025, and played a key role in the National Federation's Paddle Forward 32 strategy.
His wife, Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi, is a K1 bronze medallist from Atlanta 1996 and daugters, Jessica and Noemie Fox are Olympic champions, with the former having multiple gold medals to her name.

Sports practised
Fox has 10 World Championships gold medals in Canoe Slalom and a K1 bronze from 1979.
Honours
Fox was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1986.
He was inducted into the Paddle Australia Hall of Fame in 2023.
