The countdown is officially underway, with just 100 days to go until the International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Championships arrives in Oklahoma City, United States.
Set to take place from July 20 to 25, this prestigious week-long competition will bring together the world’s top paddlers.
More than 400 elite athletes from around 60 nations are expected to compete across canoe, kayak and kayak cross events, all vying for coveted World Championship medals.
Hosted at Riversport Rapids, the event marks a significant milestone as the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships returns to North America for the first time in over a decade.
The competition’s location reinforces Oklahoma City’s growing reputation as a premier destination for international water sports.

It will also heighten excitement for LA28 with slalom competition taking place at the Oklahoma City venue in two years’ time.
“It is hard to believe we are now 100 days out from welcoming the global Canoe Slalom community to Oklahoma City for the 2026 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships,” said Mike Knoop, Executive Director for Riversport.
“Years of planning have gone into preparing our unique urban whitewater venue in Middle America to be on the world stage.
“We could not be more excited to welcome athletes, visitors, coaches, and sports leaders to Oklahoma where we look forward to showcasing our unique brand of hospitality and share our enthusiasm for this sport with surging momentum as the two-year countdown to LA28 begins with the World Championships in July at Riversport.”
