The Development Environmental and Circular Knowledge (DECK) project, supported by the International Canoe Federation, has confirmed the dates for its latest webinar series.  

Named “Environmental Standards and Certifications in Sports”, the first of the three webinars is scheduled for May 6.  

The focus of the webinar will be on processes and product certifications and frameworks, including ISO 14001, EMAS, and ISO 20121, that help sports organisations manage and improve their environmental performances. 

Matteo Semeraro, Sustainability Management Researcher at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, will lead the session. 

The second webinar is named “New European Union Regulations on Green Claims” and is scheduled for May 21. 

It will touch upon new definitions, provisions and bans, with examples of greenwashing in the sports sector.

The session will also see Roberta Iovino, Assistant Professor at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, discuss the new regulations against greenwashing introduced by the 2024/825/EU Directive. 

The last one is named Green Procurement and Bidding in Sports, scheduled for June 16.  

Discussions will be centred around integrating sustainability into procurement policies and bidding criteria, ensuring that events and facilities are built for a greener future, run by Alessio Novi, Sustainability Management Researcher at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
