At 23 years old Gabriela Satkova and Marta Bertoncelli are very much the future of women’s Canoe Slalom.

In Paris, Satkova was making her Olympic debut. The Czech qualified fastest for the final, but her big Olympic medal opportunity didn’t go to plan. Paris was Olympics number two for Italy’s Bertoncelli, and after making it to the semi-final, a couple of mistakes ended her Olympic campaign.
