There is no stopping France in the 2024 International Canoe Federation Wildwater Canoeing World Championships in Sabero, as they won another four gold medals on the second day of competition.
Les Bleus were unstoppable in the men’s C1 and K1 team races, continuing their rich vein of form.
Theo Viens, Nicolas Sauteur and Charles Ferrion stole the show, crossing the line in 20:20.27 to take the men’s C1 team gold medal.
Less than a second behind them was Ondrej Rolenc, Marej Vanek, Matous Beier of Czechia.
There was a huge gap between the silver and bronze medallists with the German trio of Tim Heilinger, Normen Weber and Fabian Druschke claming bronze in 20:36.18, 15 seconds after the Czech stars.
The K1 team race saw Maxence Barouh, Quentin Bonnetain and Augustin Reboul cruise to gold in 17:46.45.
Germany won silver courtesy of Joshua Piaskowski, Andreas Heilinger and Finn Harstein while bronze went to Belgium’s Leo Montulet, Kilian Meersmans, and Lean Bogaerts came third.

Mathilde Serena Rosa, Giulia Formenton, Cecilia Panato ensured Italy finished on top of the podium in the women’s K1 team final in 19:51.97.
The French trio of Claire Bren, Lise Vinet and Lisa Lebouc got silver and bronze went to Laurane Sinnesael, Clemence Hulpiau and Marguerite De Hasque of Belgium.
The French women joined their male counterparts in winning the C1 team title thanks to Laura Fontaine, Eve Vitali-Guilbert, Elsa Gaubert, who posted an impressive time of 21:38.81, with Czehia’s Marie Nemcova, Anna Retkova and Jana Strilkova bagging silver..
Great Britain’s Kerry Christie, Chloe Bracewell and Laura Milne won bronze.
The final French gold of the day came in the men’s C2 team final. Sauteur and Viens, Correntin Combe and Clement Monjanel and Hugues Moret-Pierre Troubady crossed the line first in 19:39.91.
Czechia and Germany bagged silver and bronze, respectively.
The World Championships is set to continue tomorrow with the sprint races.
