One month from now, the International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Cup series will return, launching a five-stop campaign as the world’s best paddlers begin a pivotal season on the road to the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028.
The 2026 series starts in Ljubljana, Slovenia from May 29 to 31 before moving through Prague, Czechia and Augsburg, Germany for three successive weekends of pulsating action.
After the ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom World Championships in Krakow, Poland and ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Oklahoma City, United States in July, the circuit resumes in September with two decisive late-season events.
With Olympic Ranking points on the line, Vaires-sur-Marne in France and La Seu d’Urgell in Spain will host the remaining World Cups of the season.
Vaires-sur-Marne – the venue for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 – is the new addition to the calendar this season.

The World Cup Final will be staged at another former Olympic venue in La Seu where paddlers will compete for double points in the overall series on the Barcelona 1992 course.
“The World Cup season kicks off with familiar venues in Tacen, Prague and Augsburg which is a great way to start,” said Richard Fox, Chair of the ICF Canoe Slalom Committee.
“July is a busy month with the Junior and U23 World Championships in Krakow the Senior World Championships in Oklahoma City.
“The Olympic qualification system will create a new layer of interest and storytelling for us.
“Oklahoma City is a new competition venue at that level which will present a new and exciting challenge for the athletes.
“We will then round off the season with Vaires-sur-Marne and then La Seu for the World Cup Final which is the venue for the 2027 World Championships.
“It is going to be intense, but we are well prepared and looking forward to the season.”
