At 23 zears of age Gabriela Satkova and Marta Bertoncelli are very much the future of women’s canoe slalom.

In Paris Satkova was making her Olympic debut. The Czech qualified fastest for the final, but her big Olympic medal opportunity didn’t end up going to plan. Paris was Olympics number two for Italy’s Bertoncelli, and after making it to the semi-final, a couple of mistakes ended her Olympic campaign.
