Pietermaritzburg/ RSA – 7-10 September 2017 were approved by the ICF Board of Directors at its meeting 24-25 March. The ITOs will soonest possible receive further details concerning their attendance.

• the 2021 World Championships to Pitesti, Romania
The Canoe Marathon Committee has additionally decided to allocate
a 2018 World Cup to Viana do Castelo, Portugal
a 2019 World Cup to Baerum, Norway (previous decision)

The ICF Board has approved a 4-year Strategic Plan for Canoe Marathon put forward by the committee. It will be published at the ICF Website.

ICF Canoe Marathon World Cup – Shaoxing and Shanghai, China
21-26 October, 2017
The World Cup will be a combination of 2 venues near each other, Shaoxing which is chosen for the 2019 World Championships and Shanghai.
The provisional event schedule:
Thursday 19 October: Arrival day to Shanghai/Shaoxing
Friday 20 October: Training day and Team Leaders Meeting
Saturday 21 October: World Cup Normal Distance: K1 Jun Women, C1 Jun Women
Sunday 22 October: World Cup cont.: K1 Women, C1 Jun Men, C1 Men
Monday 23 October: World Cup cont.: K1 Jun Men, C1 Women, K1 Men
Tuesday 24 october: Transport to Shanghai/Training day and Team Leaders Meeting
Wednesday 25 October: Training day
Thursday 26 October: World Cup Short Distance: Heats in all single classes
Friday 27 October: World Cup cont.: Finals
Saturday 28 October: Departure from Shanghai
The organizers have offered to pay travel and accommodation including local transportation for 40 top paddlers to come on the conditions that they take part in both events. Boats will be provided by the organizers. These paddlers have been selected from the 2016 World Championships results, and the selected paddlers have been notified.

There is no limitation in entries in all classes in the World Cup competition.
