RIO DE JANEIRO - Adam van KOEVERDEN (CAN) is one of the most experienced sprint paddlers to compete at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

VAN KOEVERDEN has four medals to his name from three Olympic Games - a silver and a bronze in the K1 1000m, his event for Rio, and a gold and silver in the K1 500m.

RIO DE JANEIRO - Hungary can extend its run of winning a gold medal in canoe sprint in each of the last seven Olympic Games when competition begins on Monday 15 August at Lagoa Stadium.

The last time Hungary failed to win gold medal was at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games when it did not participate.

The last time Hungary failed to win a gold medal in canoe sprint when it did participate was at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games. Hungary won three silver and five bronze medals.

Douchev-Janic back in beloved kayak again after surgery

RIO DE JANEIRO - In a career that has now spanned five Olympic Games, Natasa DOUCHEV-JANIC (HUN) has made comebacks her speciality.

DOUCHEV-JANIC won two gold medals at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and a gold and two silvers at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

She went on to take silver in the K2 500m and bronze in the K1 200m events in London, after giving birth to her daughter Milana in September 2011.

This is the last daily blog post in this series. It rightly recognises the incredible service of those who have invested the last few years of their lives to pull off the greatest canoe slalom show on earth. You should now all be incredibly proud.
