From a teenager who wanted to have fun in Rio to finishing just outside a podium spot at Tokyo 2020, Dylan Littlehales has come a long way.

While Rio was about the fans and family in the stands, Tokyo was silent. In Paris, he is hoping for the best of both worlds. At 24, this will be his third Paralympic Games.

In this Path to Paris podcast, Littlehales speaks about the influence of Australian legend Curtis McGrath, among other things.

“My part was to prepare him for the kid,” he jokes, referring to McGrath who became a father recently.

“If they can handle a 20-year-old, they can certainly handle a newborn.”

Clearly, he did more than prepare his teammate for fatherhood, winning the world title last year and adding a silver medal in 2024, in the build-up to the Games.

Listen to our conversation with Littlehales, who is out there to prove that “your circumstances don’t define who you are”.
